SOFIA FANEGO
Sofia Fanego is a under the skin of nature. She employs methods of gathering and muted hunting learned as a child in Argentina on her family’s farm. Standing on the precipice of a forest she sees a canvas of the heart. Flora is not a simple treasure, it is a textured form ready to breathe its life into her collage work. Fanego can be found traversing the world in rare book shops, digging with the ferocity of an archaeologist uncovering a sarcophagus. She takes the female form as subject. The women are fused with her begotten blooms, buds and branches. Carefully hand constructed compositions on Japanese paper with a delicate hand. The resulting texture is a sublime amalgamation. Fanego is an International model with a love of art in all forms. Sofia is as multi-dimensional in character as her natured-femmes. She is a seeker of the marvelous. She does not settle for less. She has a soul on fire. Her art collages have been exhibited Internationally and are the subject of upcoming print features.
